Kiyomizu-dera temple, built in 780, is one of the most famous temples in Kyoto. The name is derived from the Otowa Waterfall and its pure water that gushes fourth in the mountain. This water is said to not only have the holy power of Kannon, a deity of great mercy and compassion, but to also offer blessings for good health, success in life, wealth, good relationships, and children. This temple is designated as a world heritage site, a national treasure, and a national important cultural property.
