Make your very own warm Japanese styled lantern

This Akari design Studio is the perfect place for you to experience making your own lighting in Kyoto. You are sure to be healed by the warm light made from washi (Japanese paper).
You can design your own lantern, choosing from a huge variety of different types of washi.
Our experience was the standard course (3500 yen per person, 2 hours).
First we paste our favorite Japanese paper around a glass cup.
Because it is possible to change the thickness of the color of the Japanese paper by how to overlap, each light is finished with a unique difference.
I chose too seriously, and time passed quickly, but our lantern was completed in about two hours!
It is good for a souvenir to yourself, and also nice to present to people ♪
If you put a candle on the special stand, the Japanese paper is illuminated slightly, and the Japanese styled lantern is completed.

My friend who also experienced this lantern making with me, enjoyed it a lot and was very happy with the pretty lantern we made!
