When you visit to Kitano-Tenmangu which is famous for Michizane Sugawara, the god of learning, you should stop at this famous Udon-restaurant. Surprisingly, it was founded in Edo period and you can feel its traditional atmosphere from the building constructed 400 years ago. The most popular menu is the Ippon-Udon. Ippon means one piece of noodle so there is only one thick long piece of Udon in one bowl. You must be fascinated with its chewy texture. This name of Ippon Udon contains the wish for living a long, thick and tasteful life like a Udon. Also, you can enjoy Soba (buck wheat noodles) and Donburi (bowl of rice with food on top).
