Heian Jingu Shrine

Heian Jingu shrine was built in 1895 to commemorate the 1100 year anniversary of the changing of the capital of Japan to Heian-kyo (modern day Kyoto).
The highlight of the shrine, designated as an important cultural property of Japan, is the garden; divided into east, west, south, and the centre, with each section boasting seasonal flowers.
