Home of the Tallest Pagoda in Japan!

A national treasure with 1200 years of history behind it, To-ji Temple is home to the tallest pagoda in Japan, a symbol of Kyoto itself! Within the vast temple grounds is the Kondo, or the "golden hall", which serves as the main building of the temple, and is home to the Yakushi and Gakko Bosatsu buddha statues, along with many others! Standing before the Buddha statues in the silent hall is said to be purifying and relaxing for your mind and soul! Famous for its Cherry Blossoms, the night time light ups during spring are incredible!
