Right by Kyoto Station, the size of this temple is sure to impress!

Adjacent to Miei-dou is the "Amida-dou".

The Miei-dou Gate is also incredibly beautiful.

Pass through the Miei-dou Gate and there's a "chouzuba": a place where you can wash your hands. The water comes pouring out of the mouth of a striking dragon statue.

You can appreciate the intricate beauty of Miei-dou from both the inside and the outside.

Usually twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon, there's the opportunity to take part in "okamisori" and have your head shaved bald as a monk's!

Between Miei-dou and Amida-dou you will see the "Oozori", a giant set of skis.

If you walk here from Kyoto Station, you're greeted by a huge ginko tree.
